Jewel's POV:
We started as officemates, just two people in the same place by chance.
At first, he was this brand manager guy who's so passionate about his brand. New hires like me would usually get an orientation from a brand associate; managers had other, more important stuff to attend to. But for some reason, Kyle himself was the one who oriented me and the rest of my new hire batchmates, and made sure it was a memorable one by bringing a huge SkyFlakes biscuit prop during the session.
Soon enough, he became one of my OT buddies. We spent more time together at work, grabbing dinner, randomly driving to Tagaytay for a breather, going to trips with officemates. I did hear he had a crush on me but never really gave it much thought cause I was fresh out of a relationship.
Then suddenly, we were dating. It wasn’t one of those smooth, effortless relationships at first. We had so many questions, hesitations, and even fights. There were times it felt like we were testing each other without knowing why, probably seeing if we’d stay. We dated for a whole year, each of us figuring things out and deciding if this rjelationship was worth building. They say real relationships are built from the ground up, and I know now that Kyle and I really did put in the work to get here.
And so here we are today. Kyle is still that passionate, committed person, only now, he pours his heart into us. He’s the person I can’t wait to marry, the one who makes me grateful for every moment—big or small—that got us to this place. Every late night work, every laugh, every road trip and misunderstanding shaped our story, and I’m just so thankful we found our way through all of it together!
Kyle's POV:
We first met at work! It was late 2016, and we were in Monde Nissin Corporation. I had already been working for seven years that time, while Jewel was fresh out of college.
Our HR department sends an intro email graphic about incoming new joiners so that we can get to know them and put a face to their names before their first day. As soon as I saw Jewel's profile, I instantly had a crush on her! (And I think everybody in the office noticed this right away)
I had just gotten out of my previous relationship so I was not looking to get into another one just yet; while Jewel was still in a relationship at the time. So, back then I was just content with looking at her as my "happy crush" - that someone who would motivate me to go to work every day.
We got to work together often - I handled the SkyFlakes brand and she was my media partner, and what struck me the most about her was how passionate she was about SkyFlakes' advocacies: recognizing our blue-collar workers, as the modern-day heroes. I realized that not only was Jewel pretty on the outside, but she was even more gorgeous on the inside.
Years of crushing on her eventually led to things falling into place. We both became single, we got even closer despite me changing jobs and moving to a different company, and we officially became a couple in October 2018 and have not looked back since!
This is from when Jewel first surprised me at home to kick off my birthday celebration!
My birthday's in January, and hers is on February, so the start of each year is filled with lots of celebrations!
When I left the corporate world to pursue flying, Jewel was nothing but supportive! And despite having to live in Clark for almost four years, we still made it!
We both can't wait to head to the beach after our wedding!
One thing we both are passionate about are caring for animals. Here's a photo of us visiting the husky cafe in Bangkok!
